My knees and hands hurt. Some mornings, getting out of bed felt like work. When I went somewhere, one of the first things I did was figure out where the bathroom was, just in case.
Most people had no idea. I still showed up, took care of what needed done, and carried on like so many women do.
You may still be handling your responsibilities and taking care of everyone around you, but your energy is gone by the afternoon. Your body does not respond the way it used to, and eating better feels like one more thing you are supposed to figure out.
That was the part I wanted to change. Not by following another extreme plan or making food more complicated, but by finding a healthier way to cook and live that I could actually keep doing.
I spent years baking and cooking the comfort foods my family loved. What I know now is that those same familiar foods can be made more nourishing without becoming bland, complicated, or taking all day to prepare.
Small changes in how I cooked, ate, moved, and supported my body changed far more than I expected.
At 65, I went from struggling to climb stairs and getting out of breath easily to walking, hiking in Colorado, keeping up with my grandkids, and actually looking forward to getting out of bed in the morning.
It’s for women who want to feel better but do not want another strict plan or another list of things they are doing wrong.
